“The story is a little complicated. After spending a year living with me, my son and five of his children have just moved into their own house. It was partly furnished but what it didn’t have was a washing machine, and various offers of one all fell through. In the end I decided we’d all had enough of him bicycling up to my house with huge black bags of washing.
When I searched online, Apollo offered a fantastic price for a Hotpoint washer which had enthusiastic reviews from almost all users. It was even a 7 kg model — a definite plus for a large family. Unfortunately, because for security you have to deliver to the billing address of a credit card (we do the same where I work), I couldn’t order it for him. He couldn’t order it either, because he hasn’t yet changed his billing address to his new house.
In the end, his sister, who lives around the corner from his new home, made the order on my behalf on Sunday night, and we arranged for his brother to bring his work van around to take the washer to the correct address when the machine arrived. We noted that your site promised that his sister would be contacted “two working hours” after the order was placed, to arrange delivery times.
Well, my story may have been complicated but your solution was brilliantly simple! My daughter received your call at 9 am on the dot, offering delivery the next morning before 10! What terrific service! we thought — until she received another call asking if it could be delivered that afternoon! And it was! By the time I got to her house with my cheque to pay her back, the washing machine was already standing in her front garden (3:30 pm Monday) waiting for my other son to transport it the last three blocks. In other words, it took only about 18 hours from order to delivery. This is so incredibly efficient it is practically Japanese.
I’m so excited about both the service and your prices that when I can afford to replace my ageing freezer, I have every intention of ordering it from you. It just isn’t worth bothering with anybody else.
